DESCRIPTION		At the EXPO 2000 in Hanover 40 nations and organizations from Black Africa presented themselves united - as a common presentation unique in the history of world exhibitions. The concept competition was won by MAR Architects, all further detailed planning, site supervision, logistics and construction management was jointly awarded to MAR Architects and MAR Exhibition Management GmbH. Materials, colours and shapes, textiles and sounds composed a vivid festival for the senses and brought the cultures, realities and symbols of Africa closer, considering the fact that African artists were involved from the beginning of the realization process. The concept and realization of the Africa Pavilion was awarded the top ADAM award for 2000 / 2001, representing the most prestigious award of the German Trade Fair and Exhibition Industry.
